Speech : Whatever we speak is called our speech.

A.        Direct Speech

(When anything, which is spoken or written by somebody is written or presented as it is, is called direct speech.)

1.        The teacher says,“ Ram writes a letter.”         (Direct)

            The teacher says that Ram writes a letter.      (Indirect)

2.        I say to him, “You are my helper.”        (Direct)

            I tell him that he is my helper.    (Indirect)

3.        The teacher will say,“ Ram writes a letter.”    (Direct)

4.        He has said, “I am without work these days.”           (Direct)
