IELTS Cue Card 3: Describe a product made in the region you come from or a popular product from your hometown

Nowadays, most of the products
are coming from big international companies and brands but still, there are a
few products which are manufactured locally targeting the local demand.
Traditional and cultural items are often produced locally. Here I would like to
talk about Punjabi dresses which are stitched, designed and sold locally in my
hometown.

The commercial production was
started by a native “Baldev family”. Initially they opened a small shop and Mr.
Baldev worked as a tailor. He got a good response from the market. His business
grew and he expanded his business. Now he has two big showrooms. He has a
separate workshop and store house also. They are selling Punjabi dresses under
the brand name “Punjab Suits”. They offer a wide range of collection of ladies
and gents clothes which have cultural and traditional flavor to the design of
clothes.

Such Punjabi suits are often
preferred on marriages, festivals, and cultural programs. Actually, this
product has given life to the traditional clothing in the modern times. Now
people feel proud by wearing traditional Punjabi suits.

We can say that this brand gave a
good competition to the international brands in local market. While youngsters
are buying western clothes these days, they also like to buy Punjabi suits
because of latest designs and high quality fabric in Punjabi suits.

The brand is getting popular in
nearby cities also. They have also started selling Punjabi suits over the internet.
And they are planning to open a store in Canada next year because NRIs also like
to wear these Punjabi suits.

I have also purchased this
Punjabi suits from this brand many times. Recently, I bought one dress of this
brand for marriage party of my cousin. I like this product and its brand.

So this is the product made in my
hometown.
