(41) JAN DHAN YOJANA
Jan Dhan Yojana is a scheme launched by the Prime Minister of India, on 28th of August in 2014 to attach each and every Indian citizen to the bank account for the purpose of saving money safely. He had announced about the scheme on 15th of August in 2014 while addressing the nation at Red Fort however launched two weeks later. According to this scheme, around one crore bank accounts were to be opened on the first day of launch. Money saving scheme is very necessary to make an end level development in the India which can be started and achieved by making people living in the rural areas more couscous about their saving.
Jan Dhan Yojana is a people money saving scheme launched by the Indian Prime Minister 28th of August 2014. It is so called as the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana which is actually a People’s Wealth Scheme to make some opportunity for common Indian people living in the rural areas. This scheme was launched by the prime minister to enable poor people to money saving. To make India an independent India in real mean is to make its living people independent. India is a country which is still counted as the developing country because of the backwards conditions of the people living in the rural areas. The rate of people living under the poverty line is high in India because of the improper education, inequality, social discrimination and many more social issues.
It is very necessary to increase the awareness among people about the money saving habit so that they can be independent and grow some confidence to do something better in the future. (42) SAVE WATER
Save water is the water conservation for solving the problems of water scarcity in the future. In many regions of the India and other countries there is much shortage of water and people have to go for long distance to get drinking and cooking water to fulfill daily routine. On the other hand, people are wasting more water than their daily need in the regions of sufficient water. All of us need to understand the importance of water and problems related to lack of water in the future. We should not waste and contaminate useful water in our life and promote water saving and conservation among people.
Save water or conservation of water has been very essential to maintain the existence of life on the earth because no life is possible without water. Water helps in the continuity of life cycle on the earth as an exception in the whole universe as earth is only known planet having water and life. Water is our need throughout the life so only we are responsible to save it. According to the conducted by United Nation, it is found that girls in the Rajasthan do not go to school as they have to go long distances to get water which eats their whole day so they do not get time for other purposes.
According to the survey by the National Crime Records Bureau, it is recorded that around 16,632 farmers (2,369 women) finished their lives through suicide, however, 14.4% cases was because of drought. So we can say that water scarcity is also the reason of illiteracy, suicide, fights and other social issues in India and other developing countries. In such regions of water scarcity, the new generation children are not achieving their basic right to education and right to live happily.
As a responsible citizen of India, we should make ourselves aware about all the problems of water scarcity so that we all may take a pledge and join hands together for water conservation. There is a true saying that a small effort of everyone can give a big result just like many drops of water form a huge water body like pond, river and sea. We do not need to make extra efforts for water conservation, we only need to bring some positive changes in our daily activities like ensure the tight closing of the tap after every use, use of bucket and mug while washing anything or bathing instead of using shower or pipe. A little effort from the end of millions of people can give a big positive result towards the save water campaign.
(43) RAIN WATER HARVESTING
Rain water harvesting is a technique used for collecting and storing rainwater by using various means in different resources for the future use purpose (like cultivation, etc). Rain water can be collected into the natural reservoirs or artificial tanks. Another method of collection is infiltration of surface water into the subsurface aquifers before getting lost by surface overflow. Rooftop harvesting is also a method to collect rainwater. It is of big importance to the people living in the less rainfall areas. They can continue seasonal crop harvesting using collected rain water even in the lack of regular water supply. Whenever it rains, rain water gets collected into the man made ponds or tanks.
Now-a-days, people have been depended on the government system of water supply for getting water for their every need. The present scenario of water management and distribution in the cities has been centralized by the government which has brought a big gap of community responsibility in water management. It has slowly but regularly finished the old traditional water harvesting system.
Rainwater harvesting is again a new but old and effective technique of collecting rain water during rainy season for future usage purpose. It is being frequently used in various places of India to overcome the problems of lack of water. Rain water harvesting is the good source of ground water recharge in natural way. However, the ground water level is getting less day by day because of the rapid urbanization and cities development at huge level as well as reduction in percolation of the rainwater to the ground. (44) MAHATMA GHANDHI
Mahatma Gandhi is very famous in India as “Bapu” or “Rastrapita”. The full name of him is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was a great freedom fighter who led India as a leader of the nationalism against British rule. He was born on 2nd of October in 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, India. He died on 30th of January in 1948. M.K. Gandhi was assassinated by the Hindu activist, Nathuram Godse, who was hanged later as a punishment by the government of India. He has been given another name by the Rabindranath Tagore as “Martyr of the Nation” since 1948.
Mahatma Gandhi was a great freedom fighter who spent his whole life in struggle for the independence of India. He was born in the Indian Hindu family on 2nd of October in 1869 in the Porbander, Gujarat. He lived his whole as a leader of the Indian people. His whole life story is a great inspiration for us. He is called as the Bapu or Rashtrapita as he spent his life in fighting against British rule for the freedom of us. While fighting with Britishers he took help of his great weapons like non-violence and Satyagraha movements to achieve freedom. Many times he got arrested and sent to the jail but he never discourages himself and continued fighting for national freedom.
He is the real father of our nation who really used his all power to make us free from the British rule. He truly understood the power of unity in people (from different castes, religions, community, race, age or gender) which he used all through his independence movement. Finally he forced Britishers to quit India forever through his mass movements on 15th of August in 1947. Since 1947, the 15th of August is celebrated every year as the Independence Day in India.
He could not continue his life after the independence of India in 1947 as he was assassinated by one of the Hindu activists, Nathuram Godse in 1948 on 30th of January. He was the great personality who served his whole life till death for the motherland. He enlightened our life with the true light of freedom from British rule. He proved that everything is possible with the non-violence and unity of people. Even after getting died many years ago, he is still alive in the heart of every Indian as a “Father of the Nation and Bapu”.
(45) SUBASH CHANDERA BOSE
Subhas Chandra Bose was a great freedom fighter and national patriot. He was born in the Cuttack in 1897 on 23rd of January in the rich Hindu Kayastha family. He was son Janakinath Bose (father) and Prabhabati Devi (mother). He was 9th sibling among fourteen children of his parents. He completed his initial schooling from Cuttack however matriculation degree from Calcutta and B.A. degree from University of Calcutta (in 1918).
He went to England in 1919 in order to pursue higher studies. He was highly influenced by the Chittaranjan Das (a Bengali political leader) and soon joined freedom struggle of India. He started expressing his views in front of the people through a newspaper called Swaraj. He opposed the British rule and got interested in the Indian politics. Because of his active participation, he was elected as All India Youth Congress President and Bengal State Congress Secretary. He faced lots of hardness in his life however never became hopeless.
Subhas Chandra Bose is famous all over the India as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He was a famous revolutionary figure of the India who had contributed a lot in the freedom of India. He took birth in a rich Hindu family of Cuttack in Orissa on 23rd of January in 1897. His father name was Janakinath Bose, a Government lawyer in the Cuttack District Court and mother was Prabhabati Devi. He got his early education from Anglo-Indian School in Cuttack and graduation in Philosophy from Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta.
He was a very brave and ambitious Indian young man who successfully passed I.C.S. Examination instead he joined Non-co-operation Movement after getting influenced by Desabandhu Chittaranjan Das for his motherland’s freedom. He continuously fought following violence movement against the British rule for independence of us.
He left Congress even after being a president of Congress in 1939 because of some political differences with the Mahatma Gandhi. One day he made his own Indian National powerful party called Azad Hind Fauj as he believed that non-violence policy of Gandhiji was not capable enough to make India an independent country. He finally prepared a big and powerful Azad Hind Fauj to fight with the British rule.
He went to Germany and founded Indian National Army with the help of some Indian Prisoners of war and Indian residents there. After lots of disappointment by the Hitler he went to Japan and gave a famous slogan of “Delhi Chalo” (means March to Delhi) to his Indian National Army where a violent fight took place between Azad Hind Fauj and Anglo-American Forces. Unfortunately, they forced to be surrendered including Netaji. Soon, Netaji left for Tokyo in the plane however plane got crash at Inland of Formosa. It was reported that Netaji killed in that plane accident. The adventurous works of Netaji is still inspires millions of Indian youths to do something for country.
(46) DR. SARVEPALLI RADHAKRISHNAN
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a famous teacher. He was born in 1888 on 5th of September in the poor Brahmin family at Tirutani, Madras, India. Later in his life he became a first Vice President and second President of the country. He was a good philosopher, person, idealist, teacher and a famous author. He was a man of vision, mission and principles who performed role of an Executive Head of India. He was a great personality of the country, the birthday of whom is being celebrated as the Teacher’s day in India. He was the man of honour whom we still remember by celebrating teacher’s day.
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a famous teacher and author. He took birth in the poor Brahmin family in Tirutani, India on 5th of September in 1888. The name of his father was Sarvepalli Veeraswami who was doing job in the zamindari at very small salary. The name of his mother was Sitamma. Because of the poor economic status he did his education on scholarships. He successfully completed his schooling from Tirutani and Lutheran Mission School, Tirupati. He completed his B.A. and M.A. degree in philosophy. He got married at his 16 to the Sivakamuamma. He became an Assistant Lectureship in 1909 at Madras Presidency College. He was well aware with the Upanishads, Brahmasutra, Bhagvad Gita, commentaries of Sankara, Madhava, Ramunuja and well aware with the Buddhist and Jain philosophy.
In his later life, he read philosophical commentaries of the Plato, Kant, Bradley, Plotinus, Bergson, Marxism and Existentialism. He met with the mathematical genius named Srinivasa Ramanujan in 1914 while leaving to the Cambridge for studies in order to seek blessings of Radhakrishnan. He became the Professor of Philosophy at University of Mysore in 1918. He also became a famous author and wrote many articles for journals of repute named as The Philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore, The Quest, The Reign of Religion in Contemporary Philosophy, the International Journal of Ethics, Journal of Philosophy, etc. His famous writings had draws the vision of Ashutosh Mookerjee (Vice Chancellor at Calcutta University) and got nominated for the George V Professor of Philosophy at Calcutta University in 1921. He wrote another book named Indian Philosophy on the request made by Prof. J. H. Muirhead for the Library of Philosophy which was published in 1923. His birthday anniversary is getting celebrated every year on 5th of September to honour and pay tribute to his great workings forever. He got died in the 1975 on 17th of April.
(47) MOTHER TERESA
Mother Teresa was a great woman and famous as “one woman, one mission” who had taken a big step to change the world. She was born as Agnes Gnocchi Bojaxhin on 26th of August in 1910 in the Macedonia. She came to Kolkata when she was just 18 years old and continued her life’s mission of caring poorest people.
She had helped a lot to the poor people of Kolkata suffering from the leprosy. She made them sure that it is not a contagious disease and cannot be reached to another one. She helped them to build their own self supporting colony at Titagarh.
Mother Teresa was a very religious and famous woman who is also known as “Saint of the Gutters”. She is one the great personalities all over the world. She had represented her whole life in front of us as a true mother by providing kind services of full dedication and love to the needy and poor people of the Indian society. She is also popularly known as “saint of our times” or “angel” or “a beacon in the world of darkness”.
Her birth name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu who became later famous as the Mother Teresa after her great works and life achievements. She was born on 26th of August in 1910 Skopje, Macedonia in a religious catholic family. Mother Teresa was decided to become a nun in her early age. She had joined a convent in the year 1928 and then came to India (Darjeeling and then Kolkata).
Once, while she was returning from her visit, she was shocked and her heart was broken after seeing people’s sadness in a Kolkata slum. That event disturbed her mind a lot and made her various nights sleepless. She started thinking some ways to alleviate people suffering in the slum. She was well known of her social restrictions so she prayed to the God for getting some guidance and direction.
Finally she got a message (to leave convent and serve needy people) from the God on her way to Darjeeling on 10th of September in 1937. After that she never looked back and started serving to the poor people. She chose to wear a simple dress of white sari having blue border. Soon, young girls started joining her group in order to provide a kind help to the suffering people of the poor community. She planned to make a dedicated group of sisters which would be always ready for serving to poor in any condition. The group of dedicated sisters later known as “Missionaries of Charity”.
(48) PANDIT JAWAHAR LAL NEHRU
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first prime minister of the India. He was born on 14th of November in the year 1889 in the Allahabad. The name of his father was Moti Lai Nehru who was a prominent lawyer. He got his early education at home however went to England for getting higher studies and returned again to the country in 1912. He became a lawyer just like his father. Later he became involved in the India’s freedom movement with the Mahatma Gandhi. During the freedom movement he sent to jail several times however after independence of India in 1947 he became the first Prime Minister of India.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was a great person, leader, politician, writer and speaker. He loved children so much and was a great friend of the poor people. He always understood himself as the true servant of the people of India. He worked hard all through the day and night for making this country a successful country. He became the first Prime Minister of the Independent India and thus called as the architect of modern India. In India, many people born great and Chacha Nehru was one of them. He was the person having great vision, honesty, hard labour, sincerity, patriotism and intellectual powers.
He was the giver of a famous slogan as “Aram Haram Hai.” He became the first chairman of the National Planning Commission and two years later he started a National Development Council in order to improve the living standard of the Indian people to make better quality of life. The first Five Year Plan was launched and implemented in 1951 under his guidance. He was very fond of the children so has created many ways for the growth and development of them. Later Children’s Day was declared by the Indian government to be celebrated every year for the wellness of the children on his birthday anniversary. Currently, another programme named Bal Swachhta abhiyan has been launched by the Indian government to be celebrated on his birthday anniversary.
He always gave the priority to the improvement of the untouchables, people of weaker sections of society, right of women and children welfare. “Panchayati Raj” system was launched throughout the country in order to take great step in the right direction for the welfare of the Indian people. He publicized the “Panch Sheel” system in order to maintain the international peace and harmony with India and made India as one of the leading countries of the world.

Taj Mahal is a most attractive and popular scenery look historical place. It is located in the Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It is situated in very large area at very beautiful place having river on back side. It looks like natural scenery. It looks like a heaven on the earth. It is built using white marble. It attracts people’s mind from all over the world to see every year like a love at first sight. Taj Mahal is the symbol of the eternal love of the Shah Jahan who had built this in the memory of her wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is counted as one of the Seven Wonders of this World. It is the burial place (mausoleum) of the great Empress Mumtaz Mahal.

It is a great artistic charm which attracts various people’s mind towards it every year. It is the most fascinating monument of India has been chosen as seventh wonder of the world. Taj Mahal is the love symbol of the great king of Agra. It is built using white marble which gives it attractive and amazing look. It has been called by the Rabindranath Tagore as “A Dream in Marble”. It is a real heaven on the earth which has been mentioned as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It was built by the great Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in the memory of his dead wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is considered that he had loved her wife so much and became so sad after her death. He started living without food and water. He decided to keep her all the memories in front of his eyes then built Taj Mahal in front of the Agra Fort in the memory of his eternal love. He was used to saw Taj Mahal daily from Agra Fort and remembered his wife. Taj Mahal took many years to get completed. This historical monument is a symbol of love of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.
The surrounding environment of the Taj Mahal is so natural and attractive. It is located on the bank of Yamuna River in the city of Agra, UP. The Taj Mahal has been built using royal deigns by the ideas of many artists and artisans. Lots of decorative grasses and trees enhance its beauty and fragrance of the environment. There are also some charming water fountains set up in the middle of the cemented footpath in front of the Taj Mahal building. These charming water fountains make the entry to the great mausoleum.

The Red Fort is a great historical monument in the India. It is located in the centre of Delhi (New Delhi). It was constructed by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan. Delhi was the capital of Mughals until British government had exiled Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar in 1857. It is located at the bank of Yamuna River. The wall of the Red Fort is constructed using 30 meters high stones. It took around nine years to be completed. It is also known as Lal Qila of New Delhi. It enhances the glory of the capital of the country for many years. It is made up of using red stones and marbles by the skilled architecture of that time.
